About the Role:

Oracle Cerner is seeking an enthusiastic Associate Software Engineer/Software Developer 1 to join our team. In this role, youโ€™ll develop and modify CCL scripts, participate in code reviews, and oversee debugging and documentation. You will work closely with the Support team to ensure we meet our AMS clientsโ€™ contractual obligations and maintain high levels of client satisfaction. You should be prepared to support clients on-call if needed.

As part of the software engineering team, youโ€™ll apply your foundational knowledge of software architecture to develop, debug, or design software applications and operating systems as per provided specifications. You will also contribute to enhancing existing software and building new solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and enhance software applications based on design specifications.
  • Create new reports, manage data fetching through SQL, and handle data processing and representation.
  • Gather project requirements, estimate work, and effectively plan and execute tasks.
  • Engage in technical design discussions and collaborations at the component level.
  • Perform debugging and root cause analysis to resolve issues.
  • Recommend process improvements to support development and operational efficiency.
  • Participate in client calls to ensure alignment with their requirements.
  • Provide support for software releases and gain an understanding of healthcare workflows and the Millennium data model.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Strong skills in SQL, PL-SQL, and Database Management Systems.
  • Soft skills such as problem-solving, collaboration, communication, attention to detail, adaptability, time management, continuous learning, and basic mentorship abilities.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of Business Intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Business Object, Power Insight).
  • Experience with CCL and understanding of Healthcare Workflow.

Additional Information:

  • Be willing to work irregular hours as needed and comply with organizational security policies.
  • Understand your role in safeguarding company and client assets, and take appropriate actions to prevent security breaches.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required.
