Job Overview
As a GraphQL Engineer, you will be at the forefront of designing, developing, and optimizing GraphQL APIs that meet our stringent security standards and enhance data interchange between our front-end and back-end systems. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including front-end and back-end developers and DevOps engineers, to ensure our APIs deliver high performance and security.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and Development: Architect, build, and maintain GraphQL APIs that are reliable, scalable, and efficient. Your work will directly impact how data is exchanged and processed within our ecosystem.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other teams, including front-end, back-end, and DevOps engineers, to deliver high-quality software solutions. Collaboration is crucial to ensure seamless integration and operation across the stack.
- Security Implementation: Implement security measures, including OAuth, JWT, and other authentication and authorization protocols, to safeguard our API endpoints and data flows. You will ensure compliance with security best practices to mitigate vulnerabilities.
- Code Quality and Optimization: Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code in TypeScript and JavaScript. You will be responsible for optimizing queries and mutations to enhance performance, minimize latency, and ensure smooth data flow.
- Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Actively troubleshoot and resolve issues related to GraphQL APIs and their integrations. You will play a critical role in identifying root causes and implementing fixes to maintain high system availability and performance.
- Code Reviews and Mentorship: Conduct code reviews to uphold code quality standards and provide constructive feedback to team members. You will also mentor junior developers, fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
- Stay Updated: Keep abreast of the latest trends, tools, and best practices in GraphQL, security, and web development. Your expertise will help keep our technology stack modern and competitive.
Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years in software engineering with a focus on GraphQL development. Demonstrated expertise in designing, implementing, and optimizing GraphQL APIs is essential.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficient in TypeScript and JavaScript, with hands-on experience in modern frameworks and libraries.
- Strong knowledge of GraphQL, including schema design, query optimization, and resolver functions.
- Familiarity with Apollo Server or other GraphQL server implementations is highly desirable.
- Expertise in security best practices, particularly in API development, including OAuth 2.0 and JWT.
- Additional Skills: Experience with RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure is a plus. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, particularly GitHub Actions, and version control systems like Git is advantageous.
- Problem-Solving Ability: Strong analytical skills and the ability to tackle complex technical challenges independently and collaboratively.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
