Key Responsibilities
1. Flight Planning and Scheduling
- Preparation and Review of Flight Plans: Develop detailed flight plans, including routing, altitude selection, and fuel requirements, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and operational constraints.
- Coordination with Air Traffic Control (ATC): Communicate with ATC to secure flight plan approvals, obtain clearances, and coordinate any necessary changes.
- Schedule Management: Assist in creating and managing flight schedules, ensuring optimal aircraft utilization and crew assignments.
2. Safety and Compliance
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all flight operations adhere to national and international aviation regulations, including those set by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
- Safety Management: Participate in safety audits, incident investigations, and the implementation of safety management systems (SMS) to maintain high safety standards.
- Emergency Procedures: Develop and maintain emergency response plans, conducting regular drills and training sessions to ensure readiness.
3. Operational Coordination
- Crew Coordination: Work closely with pilots, cabin crew, and ground staff to ensure smooth operations. This includes briefing crews on flight details, weather conditions, and any operational concerns.
- Ground Operations: Coordinate with ground handling services for efficient turnaround times, ensuring timely refueling, baggage handling, and catering.
- Maintenance Coordination: Liaise with the maintenance department to ensure aircraft are airworthy and any technical issues are promptly addressed.
4. Data Analysis and Reporting
- Operational Performance Monitoring: Analyze flight data to monitor performance, identify trends, and recommend improvements in operational efficiency and fuel consumption.
- Reporting: Prepare detailed reports on flight operations, incidents, and performance metrics for senior management review.
5. Customer Service and Support
- Passenger Communication: Ensure effective communication with passengers regarding flight schedules, delays, and any operational changes.
- Issue Resolution: Address and resolve any operational issues that impact the customer experience, working to ensure a smooth and pleasant travel experience for all passengers.
Qualifications and Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in aviation management, aeronautical engineering, or a related field. Advanced certifications in aviation operations or safety management are a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in airline flight operations, preferably with a commercial airline.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications from aviation authorities (e.g., DGCA, ICAO) are highly desirable.
