American Express is currently seeking a Data Analyst to join their team!
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Tool Development: Create and enhance analytic and performance monitoring tools using Hive and SQL for data extraction and transformation, along with Tableau, Excel, and Power BI for data visualization.
- Process Automation: Automate data processes by utilizing internal platforms such as EI and Event Engine.
- Support Strategic Initiatives: Provide analytical support for projects that drive transformational growth within American Express’s international strategy. This includes optimizing digital line journeys, evaluating line increase program performance, and analyzing the competitive landscape for loans.
- Collaborate with Amex Technologies: Work closely with Amex Technologies to explore partnership opportunities and adopt best practices in reporting solutions.
- Focus on User Experience: Develop reporting capabilities and analytic tools with a strong emphasis on enhancing the end-user experience.
- Identify Growth Opportunities: Apply data and analytics expertise to uncover growth opportunities within the product and marketing space.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and partners across the organization.
Qualifications:
- Educational Background: A degree in a quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Operations Research, Economics, Quantitative Finance, or a business/finance/economics degree with a quantitative focus, or equivalent industry experience.
- Technical Proficiency: Experience with Hive or SQL for data manipulation and analysis is essential.
- Tool Expertise: Familiarity with Excel pivots, Tableau, SAS, and Python is preferred.
- Financial Acumen: Strong financial understanding and a structured approach to problem-solving.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with the economics of lending products and an understanding of P&L drivers is a plus.
