As a Backend Software Engineer at PayPal, you will be responsible for building next-generation capabilities while maintaining existing services. You will need the technical expertise to develop with minimal guidance and demonstrate ownership and excellence in your role.
- Implementation Ownership: Own the implementation of modules/applications, working independently with minimal supervision.
- Design and Development: Design, implement, test, release, roll out, and support software applications for PayPal.
- Scalability and Reliability: Develop solutions to enhance the scalability, high availability, and reliability of datastores utilized within PayPal.
- Gap Identification: Identify product/functionality gaps and collaborate with internal product and technology teams to develop and deliver solutions.
- Integration Efforts: Drive integration efforts and lead critical work streams of strategic initiatives.
- Engineering Excellence: Create reusable, production-ready frameworks, challenge the status quo when necessary, and drive engineering excellence through CI/CD automation.
- Proactive Troubleshooting: Identify and troubleshoot integration or technical issues proactively.
- Tech Debt Reduction: Implement strategies to reduce technical debt.
